My friend Maryanne Profeta is an extremely creative woman, as talented as she is with small projects as she is in her garden. Having spent many years throwing Pencils! Writing Workshop parties together, I knew that even the most tedious tasks (like making loads of favor boxes) became festive occasions if we were doing them together.
On Friday, March 9, I took the favor boxes, the labels, and everything else we’d need to completely assemble them down to her house. It was just like old times.
Even toward the end of the night, when we were just sick of looking at the damn things.
